How do I measure my band width size?
When replacing a watch band or strap, the key measurement is the lug width. That's the distance between the lugs (also known as horns) on the watch case itself.
Using a ruler, measure in millimetres the gap between the two lugs as shown in the diagram below.
A general guide in terms of case diameters in relation to lug width sizes is as follows:
16mm straps fit 32mm diameter cases
20mm straps fit 37mm and 40mm diameter cases
22mm straps fit 43mm and 45mm diameter cases
What about strap lengths?
A number of variables need to be taken into account when determining the wearable length of a watch strap, as there are inconsistencies between manufacturers. The case diameter and to a lesser degree the thickness, also have to be considered.
