Who qualifies for VAT-free goods?
You’ll only be able to have eligible goods VAT-free if you’re ‘chronically sick or disabled’ and the goods are for your personal or domestic use.
You do not need to be registered disabled or eligible for any other benefit to qualify for VAT-free goods.
For VAT purposes, you are chronically sick or disabled if you have:

Charities with a registered charity number also qualify for VAT free goods.
Medical documentation is not required (either from yourself, or a person claiming on your behalf) to declare that you’re disabled or chronically sick, but if you are unsure you may wish to consult your doctor or other medical adviser.
VAT exemption applies to items designed to be used by someone who is chronically sick or disabled.
Currently, most of the items that are available to purchase here at Talking Watch Shop meet that criteria and are clearly labelled as ‘VAT Relief Available’ with both prices displayed.
When ordering online you will be asked before checking out to tick a box declaring that you, or the person you are purchasing the item for, are eligible for VAT relief and then to complete a form stating the full name and medical condition of the person who qualifies for VAT relief.
